The State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang through the Halal Inspection Institute (LPH) received a visit from Halal International
During the meeting, HICC representative Mr. Qurashi explained that his institution offers halal consulting and training, offering globally standardized certification services. He emphasized Indonesia's strategic position as the most populous Muslim-majority country, which considers collaboration with Indonesian halal institutions crucial for strengthening international halal standards.
UIN Malang welcomed the initiative and believes that cross-border collaboration will expand the reach and improve the quality of halal certification services managed by LPH UIN Malang. Synergies explored include developing a certification system, increasing the capacity of halal auditors, providing technical training, and expanding access to international halal networks.
This exploratory step was then followed up by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UIN Malang and HICC China on August 19, 2025. Through the MoU, both parties committed to establishing sustainable cooperation in strengthening halal certification services, harmonizing standards, and improving service quality in accordance with global market needs.
With this collaboration, UIN Malang affirms its commitment to becoming a credible and internationally recognized halal certification body. The collaboration with HICC is expected to expand Indonesian businesses' access to the global market and strengthen Indonesia's position in the global halal ecosystem.
