Halal Inspection Institute (LPH) of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN Maliki) Malang, signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the LPH of the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Assessment Institute (LPPOM) MUI recently at the LPPOM MUI Global Halal Center Building in Bogor.
This collaboration focuses on the field of laboratory testing, particularly in the field of product halal certification.
Manajer Mutu LPH UIN Maliki MalangMoh Taufiq stated that this inter-institutional collaboration is crucial because it is one way to encourage organizational development.
"Through this kind of collaboration, there is certainly positive hope that it will be able to realize the organization's targets and goals so that they can be achieved," he said.
The UIN Maliki Malang LPH, currently under the auspices of the Business Development Center (P2B), has an Integrated Halal Laboratory equipped with several halal testing instruments, such as the GC-FID (Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detector), which functions as an alcohol test and real-time PCR for pig DNA analysis, to enhance halal product assurance.
The signing of this cooperation agreement was also attended by the Manager of LPH UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prilya Dewi Fitriasari, M.Sc., accompanied by the quality manager Moh. Taufiq, M.Si., and the audit manager Mahrus Ismail, M.Si.
The President Director of LPPOM MUI, Ir. Muti Arintawati, M.Si., welcomed this collaboration, stating that it is a strategic partnership, specifically in the area of halal product assurance.
"This certainly strengthens efforts to ensure that products circulating in Indonesia truly do not contain prohibited ingredients," he said.
Muti further explained that the scope of collaboration with LPPOM MUI extends beyond halal certification. Furthermore, the collaboration can extend to research, student internships, and laboratory consulting services for institutions applying for ISO/IEC 17025 certification.
LPPOM MUI has representative facilities, there is an LPPOM MUI testing laboratory that is accredited ISO/IEC 17025:2017 supported by modern equipment and competent human resources in their fields.
"The laboratory instruments owned include Real-time PCR, GC-MS, GC-FID, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and UHPLC," added the Head of the LPPOM MUI laboratory, Heriyani, S.Si., M.T.Pn.
