Auditor of the Halal Inspection Institute (LPH) of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN Maliki) Malang take the halal auditor occupational certification competency test at the Indonesian Halal Professional Certification Institute (LSPHI). This is an effort to ensure the competency of LPH auditors at UIN Maliki Malang.
The certification test held recently was attended by six LPH auditors, namely Anik Maunatin, Hajar Sugihantoro, Ardiyatul Iffah Kelana, Mayu Rahmayanti, Novia Maulina, and Akyunul Jannah.
Prilya Dewi, Manager of the Audit Audit Institute (LPH) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, stated that this competency test aims to improve the participants' knowledge, skills, and capacity as auditors. This is indeed crucial, especially with current advances in industrial technology, which have created complexity in production, including the potential use of non-halal materials.
Having certified auditors will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the institution. Public trust in the LPH UIN Maliki Malang will increase, proving its competence as a halal auditing institution.
"Therefore, competent halal auditors are needed to guarantee the halal status of products," he said.
LPH Quality Supervisor Moh. Taufiq added that due to the vital role of auditors in the halal certification process, auditors are required to be truly competent. An auditor must have the ability to test or inspect a product's halal status.
"In-depth insight and understanding of the halal status of a product that complies with sharia and as stipulated in Government Regulation No. 39 of 2021," he said.
