Malang \u2013 The Halal Inspection Institute (LPH) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a Workshop and Capacity Building for halal auditors on Friday, August 22, 2025. This activity is a strategic step to strengthen the capacity and role of LPH in the halal certification ecosystem.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In his remarks, the Head of the UPT P2B UIN Malang, Dr. Suud Fuadi, S.E., M.EI., expressed his full support for the development of the LPH. He encouraged the LPH UIN Malang to not only play a role in East Java but also to be able to penetrate the international arena.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Similarly, the Rector of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Prof. Dr. Hj. Ilfi Nur Diana, M.Si., CAHRM., CRMP, advised that LPH can become the vanguard and leading sector of halal certification, both in East Java and at the national and global levels.<\/p>

As the first speaker, Lilik Fatmawati, STP., M.A.P., a reviewer for the East Java Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), emphasized the minimum standards a halal auditor must possess. According to her, auditors must understand halal product regulations and standards, be objective and independent, possess traceability, and be educational. She also emphasized that materials, processes, and products are key aspects to consider in audits.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Meanwhile, Kyai Sholihin Hasan, Secretary of the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for East Java, delivered material related to halal fatwas. He emphasized the importance of paying attention to critical points in the slaughter of poultry and ruminants, both directly and through stunning. Furthermore, Kyai Sholihin highlighted the importance of auditors' traceability for animal-based products such as civet coffee and bird's nests, which have specific characteristics in their halal certification process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
