LPH UIN Malang Increases Trust<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0Community Through SPPG-MBG Halal Certification<\/strong><\/b><\/p>

\u00a0LPH UIN Malang_<\/strong><\/b>The Halal Inspection Institute (LPH) of the State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, under the Business Development Center (P2B), continues to expand its halal certification reach. Currently, the LPH has conducted halal certification at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Ngawi (Thursday-Friday, November 20-21, 2025), having previously also conducted certification at the SPPG in Pasuruan City. This halal certification aims to ensure that food products produced by the SPPG are guaranteed safe and meet halal product assurance standards in accordance with the Head of BPJPH Decree No. 20 of 2023 concerning the halal product assurance system.\u00a0Why should SPPG have halal certification?<\/strong><\/b>\u2026because the products produced are in the food and beverage category with processing that must be halal certified according to Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning halal product guarantees and the Minister of Religious Affairs Decree No. 944 of 2024 concerning products that must be halal certified, to ensure safety for students, pregnant women and elderly recipients of MBG benefits.<\/p>

There are several SPPG Ngawi that have been audited by LPH UIN Malang under the auspices of the Al-Ihsan Sawo Manis Foundation. The Head of SPPG has demonstrated his commitment in maintaining the quality and safety of every portion of food that will be given to students, starting from the provision of halal ingredients, the processing and portioning process carried out by trained people and having training certificates as food handlers, the portioning process is carried out in a clean place, the distribution process uses a special fleet and is free of contamination and even the washing process has been provided with a place to accommodate approximately 3500\u00a0food tray<\/em>\/ompreng.<\/p>

The audit process carried out by LPH UIN Malang involved 2 (two) auditors, namely Moh. Taufiq (Quality Supervisor) and Mahrus Ismail (Audit Supervisor). There are several things that are the focus of the inspection, including the inspection of raw materials, additional materials, and auxiliary materials.\u00a0food tray<\/em>Ompreng must be guaranteed halal, the production process must be carried out in a clean area, and auditors must also ask for a certificate of hygiene and sanitation (SLHS) as a guarantee of the cleanliness and hygiene of the SPPG. The food safety management control system is also a focus for auditors because each SPPG has a nutritionist assigned to assess the nutritional adequacy of each MBG portion.<\/p>

Moh. Taufiq, as lead auditor, stated that every portion served to students must be of high quality, have sufficient nutritional value according to the provisions of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), be processed in a manner that meets food safety standards, and be checked for the adequacy of the Nutritional Value (RDA) before, during, and after cooking, so that beneficiaries truly enjoy free, nutritious food. He emphasized that no student should be poisoned by the food supplied by SPPG.<\/p>

Meanwhile, Mahrus Ismail added that the UIN Malang Halal Certification Institute (LPH UIN Malang), currently under the Business Development Center (P2B), will continue its efforts and commitment to providing high-quality and reliable halal certification services. We currently have a team of competent, experienced, and trained auditors to conduct halal audits on products produced by businesses, especially SPPGs (Product Certification Supervisors). Mahrus Ismail also expressed his gratitude to the SPPG team and SPPG partners who have entrusted LPH UIN Malang with their halal certification.<\/p>

The halal certification for SPPG carried out by LPH UIN Malang is expected to increase public trust in food products produced by SPPG, and with this halal certification it is hoped that the public can enjoy nutritious, safe and halal food for consumption and there will be no more students who are poisoned due to consuming MBG.<\/p>
